Basketball season is in full swing at the Merritts. Yesterday Luke had a tournament game in Troup, TX. They won their first game and advanced to the winning bracket. They played in the final against one of the toughest team. The other 7th grade team has a player at least 6ft tall center. Luke actually played with some of the players on the other team last year. It was a fun reunion. After the first quarter the other team was up 15 to 2. Not looking good for the Cougars. However, after half-time and some readjustment our team was able to catch up to 30 - 28. What help clinch the win was the 6ft center fouled out. Final score 40 - 30. Grace Cougars 1st place. Way to go boys!
I always say if you have to watch a game, make it exciting! Glad they came out on top.
