The picture is a plaque that Evan received for coming in second place in the Hope Open Tennis Tournament. It's a popular tennis tournament here in East Texas. It's actually a huge fundraiser for Mother's who are pregnant and chose to have their child. They have an option to raise them or they help them adopt out their child to a loving Christian home. Evan first played when he was 10. He actually won that age bracket. Now the tournament is bigger and better. Evan played in the quarter finals againest a boy who looked like Raphel Nadal. Evan said he plays like him too. He didn't think he was going to win. But, he gave his best effort and actually won 6-1 and 6-2. He lost in the final. They gave him this plaque. It was fun and good for a great cause. Evan also ran Friday in the track meet for school. He surprised himself and the coaches by winning the 800m and 400m relay. Surprise because the first meet Evan came in 3rd. But now he understands a little more how to run these race. It's fun to come in first, but we are most proud of how he works hard and doesn't give up.
Nice job Evan! It would have been fun to see you play and run, we would be your loudest admirers! Keep up the great work.
