The tornado rideThe Fair in East Texas is such a fun time of year. Our fair allows students to get in free with a coupon and on Monday, Wednesday the kids can ride any ride for free between the hours of 5-6. This past Monday, Brad was able to take Luke, Elizabeth, and Anna to the fair. The rode on so many rides and were all smiles, until the "tornado" ride. This ride is where spins round and round and round. Some people do not exit the ride without let go the contents of their stomach. However, Elizabeth and Anna successfully exit the ride with no mishap. Elizabeth though never felt quit normal and her stomach felt queasy. Brad offer to take them to a treat, since they didn't eat at the fair. Lots of anticipation filled the car. Then Elizabeth made that dreadful announcement that she "might" throw up. Brad rolled down her window and instructed her to quickly stick her head out. However, Elizabeth did not make that transaction quick enough and let "it" all out in the car. That ended the trip to eat out. I arrived home just moments after to watch Brad clean the car. (Moriah had a volleyball game that night) On the bright side, the children were able to share with me the fun they had and able to see the ribbons they won on their entries. Elizabeth's Cicada collection was a hit. Moriah's skirt came in 2nd. Luke entered his spoon collection. That took 3rd place. Elizabeth and Anna's skirt received honorable mention.
Love little fairs like that! How fun to enter their projects and collections. I'm so glad that cicada collection was recognized as being so valuable! Love it when my timing is as impeccable as yours appears to have been.
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea of the cicada collection. Good to see that others did too. Congratulations to each of you for being recognized for your entry. I don't have to tell you that you would never see me on a ride like the Tornado, especially a ride that spins. Your dad would have had a bigger mess if it was me in his car. Will you ever go on the ride again Elizabeth?
